What is Vitamin B1?
Vitamin B1 also known as thiamine, is the first water-soluble vitamin purified by people, chemically named 3-[(4-amino-2-methyl-5-pyrimidine group) -methyl]-5- (2-hydroxyethyl) -4-methylthiazolium hydrochloride, has the role of maintaining normal sugar metabolism.
Thiamine is often found in the form of its hydrochloride, molecular formula C12H17ClN4OS·HCl, molecular weight 337.29. Also known as thiamine hydrochloride. White crystalline powder. Has a weak special odor, bitter taste, deliquescent. Melting point 248ºC, soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether and benzene.
